Office Networking

Frequently Asked Questions

Ensuring your office has a strong and robust network is the single most important thing that we do, as your network is the lifeblood of your business that controls everything. Aside from your actual data and work, the network is what controls your distributed video or distributed audio systems, security systems, lighting automation, and impacts your ability to host virtual meetings in the boardroom.

How Many Access Points Does My Office Need?

To determine how many access points you will need, first consider the size, layout, and construction of your building. Does your building have concrete floors? Does it utilize metal studs or wood studs? What is the current distance from the router to the furthest point in the office? All these factors will help determine how many WiFi access points you will have to install.

Does Our ISP Matter?

As long as your are getting fast enough upload and download speeds coming into the building, ultimately your choice of internet service provider is up to you. We are familiar with all the ins and outs of their specific modems and routers and will be able to work with any ISP.

Are There Too Many Competing Networks In My Space?

It can be frustrating to open up your computer and see a dozen or more WiFi networks in your immediate vicinity, and then have trouble connecting to your network. It is possible that you are getting interference from competing WiFi networks operating on the same channel as yours. We utilize hardware and software to generate a “heat map” of the WiFi coverage in your office. This includes the strength and channels of nearby networks so we can ensure the least amount of interference for your network.
